Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Centre Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching and extensive experience in providing after-school care. This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.

Job Responsibilities

Childcare Operations

  • Management and Supervision: Oversee the daily operations of the childcare centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
  • Monitoring and Management of Nannies: Supervise and manage nannies, ensuring they adhere to the centre’s policies and provide high-quality care.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • After-School Care: Coordinate and manage after-school care programs, ensuring a smooth transition for children from school to the childcare centre.
  • Homework and Assignments: Oversee and assist with children’s homework and assignments, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance.
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that meets the needs of working mothers within the firm.

Facility & Office Management

  • Facility Oversight: Manage the upkeep and maintenance of the childcare centre’s physical environment, including classrooms, play areas, and common spaces.
  • Vendor and Supplies Management: Coordinate with vendors and service providers for repairs, supplies, and facility needs.
  • Office Administration: Oversee office operations including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and record-keeping.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain inventory of educational materials, toys, cleaning supplies, and office equipment.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all facility and administrative documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

Education:

NCE, OND, Degree in Education, or in a related field.

Any relevant childcare certifications and first aid training are an added bonus

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a schoolteacher.

After-School Services or Creche experience are an added advantage

Skills:

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to develop and implement educational programs.

Knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices.

Personal Attributes:

Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
