Job Description
Our client, a fully-integrated Agro-industrial establishment with subsidiaries in Nigeria is currently seeking a Utility Manager will be responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of utility systems in a palm oil factory. This includes steam boilers, steam turbines, power generation, water treatment, compressed air, and cooling systems. The role ensures uninterrupted utility support for production while improving efficiency, reducing costs, and driving sustainability initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
Key duties include overseeing full utility system operations, leading preventive and corrective maintenance efforts, and implementing energy-saving strategies. The manager will lead a team of technicians, maintain high safety and compliance standards, and introduce green energy solutions such as bioenergy and solar power.
Performance & Strategy:
The role requires close monitoring of utility KPIs including uptime, energy efficiency, and maintenance response times. Goals include achieving 95% system uptime, reducing energy consumption by 5% annually, and integrating renewable energy to cut non-renewable usage by 80%. Strong data tracking and reporting are essential.
Qualifications/Skills:
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is required, with at least 8 years’ relevant experience—preferably in a manufacturing or palm oil setting. Strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and familiarity with CMMS and energy management systems are essential.
